NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Master of Arts in Teaching degree program has been ranked Louisiana’s top on-line master’s degree program on the list of Best Value Teacher Prep Master’s Programs compiled by Teacher.org, a resource that provides information for and by teachers regarding degree pathways, careers and scholarships.
Teacher.org combed through hundreds of schools around the nation and handpicked exceptional master’s programs in each state based on accreditation, entrance requirements and cost. Northwestern State’s master’s program is Louisiana’s only program listed in the rankings that is offered 100 percent online.
Students can earn master’s in early childhood education, elementary education, middle school education and secondary education in content education; special education (mild/moderate), special education (mild/moderate) with a dual degree in special ed and a content area. The cost of the program is less than the state average for Initial Teacher Preparation master’s programs at public institutions. The university’s online campus is the largest of its kind in Louisiana and the fully-online program ensures convenience and flexibility for working professionals.
