Faculty, Staff and Students:

The health, safety and well-being of our students, faculty and staff are our paramount concern.  The completion of the educational goals of our students is secondary only to their health, safety and well-being.  These priorities guide all our actions and decisions.

As announced Friday, March 13, 2020, in response to the ongoing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, Northwestern State University suspended all in-person classes effective at the end of the day Friday, March 13.  Currently, we are transitioning to online instruction and other remote learning alternatives set to begin on Thursday, March 19. We will continue to monitor the severity of the pandemic and follow advice of state and federal public officials to determine if and when face-to-face classes can resume this semester.

There will be no classes at the university Monday through Wednesday, March 16-18.  Faculty and staff will utilize this time to prepare for a smooth transition in course delivery methods.
