Dear Students:
Welcome to Fall 2020 at Northwestern State. It’s good to have you on campus.
By now, you are aware of many COVID19 protocols. Information from the LA Department of Health and the CDC changes often. Therefore, I urge you to frequently review the NSU Return to Campus Plan found here https://www.nsula.edu/return-to-campus/ This site also provides guidance on student events and what to do if you or a roommate contracts COVID19.
Help maintain a safe NSU campus by observing these practices:
- Conduct daily health checks
- If you are sick, stay home
- If you test positive or are exposed, stay in quarantine
- Practice social distancing
- Limit social gatherings
- Wash your hands often
- Always wear a mask or face covering
Wearing face coverings, remaining quarantined, and practicing safe distancing are required at NSU. Students who fail to practice COVID19 safety protocols may be subject to disciplinary action including suspension. If you need to report someone who has violated a health policy, direct complaints to the Dean of Students Office deanofstudents@nsula.edu or the Office of Student Conduct and Accountability StudentConduct@nsula.edu
Remember that observing health protocols, particularly wearing masks, protects those we love: elderly grandparents, parents who have survived cancer, aunts and uncles with high blood pressure and diabetes, and cousins and siblings with asthma .
Thank you for being a responsible member of the NSU campus community.
Sincerely,
Frances Conine
