Moodle Fundamentals

In this workshop, we will cover the breadth of available options within the LMS and demonstrate the basic tools needed for implementing a Moodle course.

Introduction to OneDrive

OneDrive is the cloud storage that connects to your computer and your other office applications, allowing you to easily work on any file on any computer or tablet. You can share files quickly, and co-author files with others. In this workshop, you will see how to access your OneDrive, organize your files, and share files with others. You will see how OneDrive connects to your workflow in Word, PowerPoint and more!

Webex Personal Room

Your Webex Personal Room is a valuable tool for engaging with online students. In this workshop, you will learn how to open and run your personal room either as a one-on-one meeting option as well as an open office for online classes. You will also be introduced to some unique features of the room that are different from the standard training sessions. Note: This workshop is hosted within Meeting Center. Follow the instructions posted below to find the workshop in the main public calendar.

Microsoft Stream

Stream is the video library system available through Office365. Learn how to upload videos to your library, add interactivity, share with your courses, and caption your video content.

Managing Your Gradebook

You can set up your gradebook two ways, total points possible or weighted. In this workshop we will cover the benefits and challenges of each. You will also learn how to easily calculate student progress, enter grades, and view overall grades so that you and your students can track progress during the course.

Excel: Organizing Your Data

Have data in Excel that is overwhelming? Learn how to organize your data so it can be more manageable. Topics include: importing data from other Excel files and other file types such as CSV and TXT files, text to columns, removing duplication, sorting and custom sorting by multiple columns, filtering, creating subtotals, and copying/moving worksheets within and out of a workbook.

New! Microsoft Forms

Forms is the name of the form creation tool in Office365. Feedback forms can be valuable for increasing engagement as well as gathering feedback. Join us in this workshop to see how you can create both standard feedback forms as well as quizzes with right and wrong answers. We will also demonstrate how forms can be linked or embedded in courses, documents, and more!

New! Teams Meetings

Microsoft Teams includes a synchronous meeting platform that is very similar to Webex, but includes some features of particular interest to instructors who regularly record their meetings to share with students.  We will demonstrate the tools for scheduling, running, and recording Microsoft Teams Meetings. We will also compare the platform to Webex and discuss similarities and differences between the two meeting systems.

PowerPoint Recording

Would you like an easy (and free) tool to make your lecture presentations more engaging to your students?  PowerPoint is now equipped with valuable tools to record lectures, and add video and interactive content, such as quiz questions or web sites, to any presentation.  In this workshop, you will learn how to record using PowerPoint.

This workshop is an introduction to Excel components. Learn about creating and navigating worksheets, entering text, dates and numbers, selecting cells, entering formulas, and much more.

In this workshop, we will discuss ways to implement online tools for scheduling and hosting online office hours as well as ways to facilitate student group work.  We will introduce elements of Microsoft Teams and Webex, as well Microsoft OneDrive and other applications.

Sharing Content in Moodle

In this workshop, we will demonstrate how to link and share videos and files stored in VIC, Stream, and OneDrive to your Moodle Courses. We will show you how to share content effectively and efficiently.

  1. Go to nsula.webex.com and sign in.
  2. Click on the Search Bar at the top of the page and enter the name of the session you would like to attend. Click Show More Results to see all listings. You can also search by date.
  3. Click the name of the session you want to attend and then click Register.
  4. Complete the registration.

You will receive an email confirmation after you have registered with the link you will use to join the session.
