Microsoft Forms

Forms is the name of the form creation tool in Office365. Feedback forms can be valuable for increasing engagement as well as gathering feedback. Join us in this workshop to see how you can create both standard feedback forms as well as quizzes with right and wrong answers. We will also demonstrate how forms can be linked or embedded in courses, documents, and more.

Moodle Fundamentals

In this workshop, we will cover the breadth of available options within the LMS and demonstrate the basic tools needed for implementing a Moodle course.

Course Overview & Introduction

The Course Overview area is the first part of the course that the students will see, but probably the last thing you will create.  In this workshop, we will discuss the items that should be included within a Course Overview area to effectively orient your students in your course.  This workshop is part of our Master Course Creator series.  In order to earn the related badge for attendance, you will be asked to complete an assignment related to the content.

Course Design Best Practices

In this one-hour workshop, you will be presented with an overview of course design best practices. We will briefly discuss the main principles outlined in the Quality Matters rubric that, if followed, will ensure the best experience for online students. We will also introduce you to our other, more detailed workshops that explore specific standards.

Introduction to OneDrive

OneDrive is the cloud storage that connects to your computer and your other office applications, allowing you to easily work on any file on any computer or tablet. You can share files quickly, and co-author files with others. In this workshop, you will see how to access your OneDrive, organize your files, and share files with others. You will see how OneDrive connects to your workflow in Word, PowerPoint and more!

Moodle: Creating Quizzes

Create different types of questions for variety and interactivity in your exams; Setup your quizzes to be administered easily and efficiently. See how to review the results of your student and manage their participation within quizzes.

PowerPoint Recording

Would you like an easy (and free) tool to make your lecture presentations more engaging to your students?  PowerPoint is now equipped with valuable tools to record lectures, and add video and interactive content, such as quiz questions or web sites, to any presentation.  In this workshop, you will learn how to record using PowerPoint.

Sharing Content in Moodle

In this workshop, we will demonstrate how to link and share videos and files stored in Stream and OneDrive to your Moodle Courses. We will show you how to share content effectively and efficiently.

Managing Your Gradebook

You can set up your gradebook two ways, total points possible or weighted. In this workshop we will cover the benefits and challenges of each. You will also learn how to easily calculate student progress, enter grades, and view overall grades so that you and your students can track progress during the course.

Facilitating Online Communication

In this workshop, we will discuss ways to implement online tools for scheduling and hosting online office hours as well as ways to facilitate student group work.  We will introduce elements of Microsoft Teams and Webex, as well Microsoft OneDrive and other applications.

Engagement Tools for Synchronous Courses

In this workshop, we will share some of the leading advice and strategies for engaging with learners in your synchronous video conferencing classes. We will demonstrate the use of tools such as

  • Polling
  • Online quizzing
  • Breakout rooms

This workshop will be presented in Webex, but we will also discuss how to accomplish these tasks within Teams.

Overwhelmed by our inbox? Want to optimize the way you use email day to day? Discover features built into Outlook that will help you organize your workflow and reduce clutter. Tools we cover include signatures, rules, flags, and calendar organization.

  2. Click on the Search Bar at the top of the page and enter the name of the session you would like to attend. Click Show More Results to see all listings. You can also search by date.
  3. Click the name of the session you want to attend and then click Register.
  4. Complete the registration.
  5. You will receive an email confirmation after you have registered with the link you will use to join the session.
