NATCHITOCHES – Administrators at Northwestern State University are monitoring weather conditions as Tropical Storm Nicholas moves into southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana. The storm is expected to spread the threat of flooding across Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi over the next couple of days after making landfall as a Category 1 hurricane overnight Monday.
Due to the threat of flash flooding in the Leesville area today, and in concern for the safety of our students traveling in that area, all classes on the NSU Leesville campus will be canceled as of noon today, Tuesday, September 14, 2021.
Please exercise caution during this time and stay safe.
Updates will be provided throughout the day regarding other possible closures or class disruptions. Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling. Information will be posted at www.nsula.edu and on all of Northwestern State’s social media channels.
