FBLA-PBL is the largest business career student organization in the world. The high school division has 215,000 members, while the post-secondary division reaches over 11,000 college students. The newest group, FBLA-Middle Level, is showing remarkable growth with nearly 15,000 student members. Finally, the Professional Division has reached over 3,000 members. Over 11,000 advisers round out the group. Exclusive membership and career recognition programs are designed for each division to provide additional personal and chapter development opportunities.
Each Spring, the School of Business at Northwestern State University hosts the District III Leadership Conference for local high school students. Louisiana is currently divided into six districts. Approximately 800 high school students from the surrounding parishes visit the campus to participate in contests related to their business courses and to hear guest speakers relate current business topics to these secondary business courses. College of Business faculty serve as judges for the event, administer tests, and help the district vice-president coordinate all events on campus.
