A comprehensive science camp experience that will offer workshops in: Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Physics, Genetics, and Natural Science.
Age: The camp is intended for children 10-14 years of age (not recommended for students who have not completed the 4th grade).
Cost: $125 per attendee. Registration includes lab coat and safety googles; campers must bring their own lunch, but the camp will provide an afternoon snack.
Dropoff/Pickup: Attendees can be dropped off starting at 8:30 AM in the lobby of Bienvenu Hall and picked up in Rm 211 between 5:00 – 5:30 pm in Bienvenu Hall.
Attendees will:
- Be exposed to topics in a variety of fields of Science
- Work with various technologies used in research
- Interface with the faculty of the School of Biological and Physical Sciences
- Unwind at the end of the day with science games, movies, and snacks

IMPORTANT!!! Camp attendees must also print, fill out, and turn in Northwestern State University Participant Permission, Release & Waiver of Liability form. This form is required for all minor camp attendees at any of NSU’s summer camps.
CAUTION!!! During this camp, your child will be working with live bacteria. While the bacteria will not be dangerous, it could cause infections in immunocompromised individuals. We will use all precautions possible (lab coats, safety glass, and gloves), but we MUST know if your child is immunocompromised or at an increased risk of infection so that we may take extra steps to ensure their safety. Your child will also be working with chemicals in the chemistry laboratories. If your child has any allergic reactions to medicines or other chemical compounds, please let us know so we avoid using those in our experiments.
