Welcome to the Health and Human Performance Department at Northwestern State University in historical Natchitoches, Louisiana!

We offer a Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science with concentrations in kinesiology, pre-physical therapy, pre-occupational therapy, and pre-physician’s assistant; a Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education in K-12 Teaching, and a Master of Science degree with concentrations in Public Health (100% online), Sport Administration (100% online or face-to-face), and Exercise Physiology (face-to-face). We offer a minor in Coaching Athletics for individuals interested in coaching at any level.  Students participate in fieldwork and a culminating internship experience during their last semester. Many of our students gain employment from their internship sites. Our faculty are dedicated to student success.
