NATCHITOCHES – The Phi Beta Delta Language and Culture Series will feature a lecture on Egypt on Monday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m. in the David Morgan Auditorium (Room 107) of Russell Hall. Guest lecturer Sadeem El-Nahhas will offer insights into the language and culture of Egypt and will be presented by Northwestern State University ‘s Eta Mu Chapter of Phi Beta Delta as part of its scholarship fundraiser.
Registration for the event is open to all and can be done on-site in Room 107 or online at https://nsu.la/PBDegypt, with registered attendees receiving the meeting invitation/link via email after registration. The registration fee is $7 per student and $25 for all other participants. The event will also be streamed via WebEx at the same time, with a WebEx recording available for registered attendees.
The Phi Beta Delta Language and Culture Series supports funding for Northwestern State students participating in international studies and aims to expand all participants’ knowledge of diversified languages and cultures worldwide.
El-Nahhas was born in Saudi Arabia to Egyptian parents but moved with them back to Cairo when she was a child. She earned a BA in philosophy and an MA in English Literature in Cairo. El-Nahhas moved from Cairo to Natchitoches more than a decade ago. She currently teaches composition and literature in the Department of English, Languages, and Cultural Studies at NSU. She enjoys travelling and studying Spanish.
