Northwestern State University students and faculty were able to meet with state legislators and other stakeholders during the University of Louisiana System Day at the Capitol April 26.  NSU highlighted degree programs in education and nursing while networking with colleagues and fellow students from the other eight universities in the UL System.  Student Government Association Officers, NSU cheerleaders, alumni and faculty and student volunteers participated in the annual event, which allows each university to showcase degree programs and their impact in the state.  On the front row from left are Dr. Aimee Badeaux, Nick Saucier, Kelsey Lott, Honor Camus, Annalise Sylvia, Bailey Willis and Mary Scruggs.  On the back row are Dr. Kristen Walker, Dr. Katrina Jordan, Rep. Gabe Firment, Dr. Kimberly McAlister, Katherine Reid, Scott Wisby, Taylor Womack, Blaine Bernard, Adonis Hurrington, Traven Matthews, Alex Engstrom, Tre Jackson, Nicholas Cooksey and Jacob Ellis.

NSU student volunteer Kelsey Lott of Hornbeck showed Champ, the Louisiana Tech mascot, an intubation simulation during a demonstration at the annual ULS Day at the Capitol April 26. ULS Day at the Capitol allows each of the nine schools in the University of Louisiana System to greet legislators, showcase degree programs and demonstrate the value they add to the economy and quality of life in Louisiana.
