NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University student Jairus Killings was named a Resolute Man by Theta Chi Fraternity while attending the fraternity’s Initiative Academy in Bloomington, Indiana. Killings, a theatre major from Alexandria, is president of NSU’s Theta Chi chapter.
The Resolute Man is a set of standards defining membership in Theta Chi through which the chapters experience higher levels of engagement and achievement. The Resolute Man focuses on leadership, professional development and The Assisting Hand. Fraternity members choose one of three tracks. The Individual Track requires completion of three recommended components, experiences or commitments in three competency areas, leadership development, professional development and The Assisting Hand. The Experience Track is an immersive professional experience hosted by alumni who are experts in their field. The Event Track offers the opportunity to work in a cohort to focus on brotherhood, networking and leadership.
Collegians who earn the honor to become Resolute Men participate in a ritual ceremony to receive the insignia of The Resolute Man to wear as long as he is a member of Theta Chi Fraternity in good standing.
