NATCHITOCHES – The University Programming Council at Northwestern State University will present the 66th Annual Miss Northwestern – Lady of the Bracelet Scholarship Program on Thursday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m. in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium. There is no admission charge.
Eight candidates will compete in the scholarship program, which is a preliminary for the Miss Louisiana Competition. The candidates are Cameron Bruno of New Orleans, Makynli Delcambre of New Iberia, Jillian Duggan and Aniyah Smith of Shreveport, Lily Goudeau of Marion, Jennifer Langbein of DeRidder, Madison Simms of Natchitoches and Petra Williams of Lafayette.
The winner will receive more than $8,000 in scholarships and prizes.
Bruno is a freshman dance/health and human performance major and the daughter of Carrie and Brad Bruno. She is an NSU Ambassador and a member of the Demon Dazzlers and Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
Delcambre is a senior dance and business administration major. She is the daughter of Jill Migues and Bradford Migues. Delcambre is a member of Purple Pizzazz Pom Line where she was captain and an officer and was a two-time freshman orientation leader. She is an alumna of the President’s Leadership Program and a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, the Dance Organization of Students, Demon Mentor Network, Demon Volunteer in Progress, Purple Jackets Honor Society and Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority. Delcambre was a Student Government Association senator. She is a President’s List student.
Duggan is the daughter of Julie Averett and Michael Duggan. She is a junior dance major. Duggan is president of Dance Organization of Students and is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society.
Goudeau is the daughter of Mark and Jill Goudeau. She is a freshman biology/pre-med major. Goudeau is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.
Langbein is a junior dance major and is the daughter of Jesslyn and Peter Langbein. She is a member of the Dance Organization of students and Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity. Langbein received the Honesty and Integrity Award from the NSU Dance Company.
Simms is the daughter of Luke and Brandi Simms and Kristi Cooley. She is a junior biology major. Simms is a member of Blue Key Honor Society, Purple Jacket, Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society, the Order of Omega Honor Society, Demon Dazzlers and Phi Mu Fraternity.
Smith is the daughter of Floyd and Chasity Jones and Patrick Smith. She is a freshman nursing major. Smith is a member of Helping Hands, La Belle Femme and the African American Caucus.
Williams is a junior psychology major. She is the daughter of Phillip Williams and Antonetta Williams. She is involved with the University Programming Council where she was spring manager and received the outstanding coordinator award. She is also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, National Society of Leadership and Success the American Criminal Justice Association and Helping Hands. Williams has been on the President’s List and Dean’s List.
