One-on-One Consults with Instructional Designer
If you have questions about course design, making your documents accessible for students, or creating and sharing video, set up a one-on-one consultation during the month of August via Microsoft Bookings. These meetings will be set up as Teams Meetings. If you prefer to meet in person, go ahead and schedule using the Bookings scheduler and bring your laptop to South Hall at your scheduled time.

In this workshop, we will cover the breadth of available options within the LMS and demonstrate the basic tools needed for implementing a Moodle course.

Managing Your Gradebook
You can set up your gradebook two ways, total points possible or weighted. In this workshop we will cover the benefits and challenges of each. You will also learn how to easily calculate student progress, enter grades, and view overall grades so that you and your students can track progress during the course.

In this workshop, we will review the various ways to make a test/quiz secure to administer. From the settings within the quiz settings of Moodle, to the use of Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor, to the use of third party vendors like ProctorU, we will show how you can keep an exam protected as best as possible.

Webex is a valuable tool for engaging with online students. In this workshop, you will learn how to open and run your personal room as a one-on-one meeting option as well as how to schedule and run class meetings.

Microsoft Teams includes a synchronous meeting platform that is very similar to Webex, but includes some features of particular interest to instructors who regularly record their meetings to share with students. We will demonstrate the tools for scheduling, running, and recording Microsoft Teams Meetings. We will also compare the platform to Webex and discuss similarities and differences between the two meeting systems.
