NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s School of Education Director Dr. Katrina Jordan and Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate students Lane Alford and Diego Almanza donated resources and made and distributed family literacy bags with items purchased with International Paper Foundation funds to preschool children enrolled at the NSU Marie Shaw Dunn Child Development Center and Vaughan Elementary School. Local families can use the books and supplies to make story time a regular part of their family routines and engage in early literacy experiences at home, strengthening children’s love for reading and dispositions for lifelong learning.
