NATCHITOCHES – NSU percussion professor Dr. Oliver Molina will present a faculty recital on Thursday, March 13 at 7:30 in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. A livestream of the concert will be available at https://nsula.edu/capa/capalivestream.
ThE recital will showcase six pieces that celebrate Women’s History Month and highlight women composers. Featured works include “Bebop Riddle” by Augusta Read Thomas, “A Little Prayer” by Evelyn Glennie, and “Prism” by Keiko Abe on marimba, “Tiny Dancer” by Jennifer Jolley on multi-percussion, and “Tang Meng” for percussion trio with Peyton Johnson and Jacob Naqvi. Molina will also premiere a steel pan solo that he commissioned titled “Catching Breath” by Candice Hill.
