Undergraduate Student Qualifications:

  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
  • Receive a grade of B or higher in the courses you wish to tutor. (Core courses are in high demand, such Math 1020, Science 1010, and English 1010.)
  • Have completed at least one semester of courses
  • Be enrolled as a full time degree-seeking student (12 hours or more)
  • Proficient with MS Office and Internet navigation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Have good organizational, oral and written communication skills

Graduate Student Qualifications:

  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0.
  • Must be admitted into graduate school on regular status, be in good academic standing and be enrolled as a full time student (9 hours or more) as a degree-seeking Natchitoches-based student – complete GA application via the Graduate School page.
  • All majors considered – English and Psychology preferred for writing assistance
  • Proficient with MS Office and Internet navigation
  • Ability to work independently
  • Have good organizational, oral and written communication skills

Graduate Student Job Description:

  • Serve as a peer mentor to undergraduate tutors as well as clients
  • Work as a tutor in specific subjects based on your graduate and undergraduate courses
  • Coordinate and schedule tutors and clients as needed
  • Assist in creating and presenting student development workshops
  • Assist with gathering assessment data as needed
  • Communicate with student clients and staff as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
