NATCHITOCHES – Leonville student and award-winning bass fisherman Braxton Speyrer signed a commitment to join Northwestern State University’s Bass Fishing Team.  Speyrer, a senior with Louisiana Virtual Academy who fishes through Port Barre High School, is one of the highest ranked high school anglers in Louisiana.  He will receive a $500 signing scholarship from the Dylan Kyle Poche Foundation and plans to major in biology, wildlife and conservation. Northwestern State’s Bass Fishing Team has enjoyed recent success this year, ranking as high as third in the nation.  Information on the Fishing Team is available at https://www.facebook.com/nsufishingteam/.
