NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State University and Natchitoches communities are invited to sing with NSU’s Cane River Singers for the 2024-2025 season. Cane River Singers is the university’s non-auditioned symphonic chorus open to students, faculty, staff and community members. 

Conducted by Dr. Shane Thomas, NSU’s new director of choral activities, this season will include a performance of Duruflé’s “Requiem” featuring organist and NSU alumnus Micah Dugas on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall and a double-header of Bach’s “Magnificat” and Haydn’s “Te Deum” for the Empress Marie Therese with the NSU Orchestra on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. 

Rehearsals begin Monday, Aug. 19 and will run from 5:30-7 p.m. each Monday in the NSU Choir Room. Please email Thomas at thomassh@nsula.edu if you’d like to join or have any questions.
