Seven U.S. Army officers commissioned through NSU ROTC

NATCHITOCHES – Following spring commencement ceremonies, seven cadets of  Northwestern State University’s 72nd Demon Battalion were commissioned Thursday, May 12 as Second Lieutenants in the U.S. Army. NSU awards Spring 2022 diplomas

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University awarded 1,025 degrees to 991 graduates during spring commencement May 11-12.  Graduates collected diplomas for associate, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral degrees, post-baccalaureate certificates and post-master’s degrees.  An honorary doctor of humanities was awarded to Baton Rouge businesswoman and 1968 NSU alumna Lela Mae Wilkes.

Freshman Connection to begin May 18

Department of English, Foreign Languages and Cultural Studies hosts writing, coloring contests

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of English, Foreign Languages and Cultural Studies organized two writing contests for youngsters this spring. A St. Patrick’s Day writing contest for junior high students throughout Natchitoches Parish took place in March followed by an Easter writing and coloring contest for kindergardeners-third graders and fourth-fifth graders in April.
