Lemoine Scholarship created for education majors

Students pursuing a degree in education are eligible for a new scholarship created for future teachers.  The Linda Gale and Henry H. Lemoine Jr. Scholarship will be awarded to an education major at any level attending Northwestern State University.

Series of painting classes to be offered in July and August

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning & Global Engagement will offer a Pick Up Your Brush painting class on July 8, 22, 29 and August 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the second floor of South Hall. The fee is $45 per session. Each date is a separate session.

Cajun musician Amanda Shaw to perform Saturday as part of NSU Folklife Series

NATCHITOCHES – Cajun musician Amanda Shaw will open the 2021 NSU Folklife Concert Series Saturday, July 3 at 2 p.m. at the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame and Northwest Louisiana History Museum at 800 Front Street in downtown Natchitoches.  The concert series is free and open to the general public.

Natchitoches artist unveils “Faith” monument to late wife and other loved ones
