Notary class to begin Feb. 27

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Office of Electronic Learning & Global Engagement will offer a Notary Public Exam Prep Course starting Tuesday, Feb. 27. Class time is 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday until May 23. The early bird fee is $430 until Feb. 21 and $450 after that date.

Get Down and Clean Up – NSU library has clean-up kits available for check-out

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Eugene P. Watson Memorial Library is joining libraries from around the state in a program to encourage litter abatement in Louisiana.  Students and faculty with a campus ID can check out clean-up kits with vests, litter grabbers, trash bags and instructions to clean up litter.

Retention rates show positive measures

NATCHITOCHES – Fall to spring retention rates for first-time freshman rose to 87.8 percent at Northwestern State University this semester with some departments reporting as high as 90 percent retention of freshmen from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024.

Magnet Pre-K, Kindergarten students get literacy bags

Northwestern State University’s Early Childhood Education program provided Natchitoches Magnet preschool children and their families with literacy activities, resources and support so they can engage in reading and play activities at home.
