NATCHITOCHES – Cellist Giuliano De Angelis will join Northwestern State faculty Andrej Kurti, Chialing Hsieh and Sofiko Tchetchelashvili for a recital at NSU on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 7:3 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public.
De Angelis will join Kurti on violin and Sofiko Tchetchelashvili on viola on Schubert’s “String Trio D. 471.” The four artists will perform Brahms’ “Piano Quartet No. 1.”
De Angelis studied with celebrated cellist and pedagogue Marianne Chen. Among his most recent engagements as soloist, he played with Italian orchestras including Orchestra del Teatro Vittorio Emanuele di Messina, Orchestra del Teatro Cilea di Reggio Calabria, Orchestra Filarmonica Campana, Orchestra Sinfonica di Salerno Claudio Abbado, Mozart Italian Orchestra as well as Ensemble Accademia degli Orfei and Interamnia Ensemble. He recently completed a solo tour in China and is touring the United States. De Angelis is artistic director of Festival di Maggio in Campania, Italy.
His most recent recordings were made for Bongiovanni, Rai Trade, Medusa Film, Mediaset, Fabbri Editori. De Angelis has also collaborated with many leading jazz artists.
