NATCHITOCHES – Students from Northwestern State University’s Department of New Media, Journalism and Communication Arts visited Dark Wood Adventure Park as part of a multimedia strategic communication campaign project for Dr. Jessica Zhang’s communication capstone class. Objectives were to help the business find uniformity in their campaign strategy and increase awareness among the target consumer about the park’s ever-growing adventures. Students toured the mini golf course currently under construction while learning about the park’s bear factory, food service, coffin ride and interest in recruiting NSU students for customer service and marketing. Students interviewed owners Mardy and Jason Summerlin for input on their vision for Dark Woods. After students complete their final presentations, the Summerlins will share the results on social media platforms where they have more than 4,000 followers. Participating students are, front row from left, Isabella Ruggiano, Taylor Spitzer, Grace Jensen, Jason Summerlin, Caitlin Le Roux, Jon Elise Sturgeon, Lia Portillo, Chimani Murphy and Kendall Fuller.
