Admission and Candidacy
Undergraduate Programs
Admission to the university is not admission to a specific teacher education program. Admission to a specific program occurs after 1) admission to the university and 2) satisfying certain academic requirements. Admission to a program is referred to as “teacher candidacy.”
Undergraduate students must maintain teacher candidacy status once admitted to a teacher education program. This includes maintaining a minimum overall GPA of 2.50/4.00, complete all degree-applicable courses with a grade of C or better, and meeting all other academic requirements.
Note: Students majoring in child and family studies do not participate in teacher candidacy.
