Non-Credit Programs

The non-credit area strives to work with University resources, community resources, corporate resources, and technological resources to provide exemplary programming customized to fit the needs of the wide variety of students served. Specialized training opportunities such as workshops, conferences, seminars, and short courses are provided by Electronic Learning & Global Engagement and are staffed by leaders in each of the fields represented.

Northwestern Can:

Customize training seminars on-site and through distance education.
Design seminars, short courses on a variety of human resource topics, such as stress management, time management, communication, and leadership skills.
Design seminars, short courses on women’s issues ranging from physical well being to work related issues.
Provide customized training and refresher courses using industry professionals.
Provide seminars on issues pertinent to small-business owners or individuals interested in starting a small business.
Provide short courses which satisfy continuing education unit requirements.
Customize leisure learning programs according to students’ needs/interests.
Design seminars on family issues, ranging from health and wellness to communication skills.

It depends on the course. You do receive a certificate of completion after completing any of the online courses offered through Gatlin Education and Education to Go.

Do you earn a degree when taking a non-credit course?

Non-credit courses do not offer college credit. They are generally taken for personal or professional interest.
