Bachelor of Arts in History

Northwestern State University offers a well-balanced history program, with courses in both face-to-face and online formats, concentrating in United States and European history.  The European courses span from Classical Antiquity through Middle Ages and into Modern Europe.  The program is strong in American History, spanning from the colonial era through contemporary times.  The program also offers courses on the history of modern East Asia, as well as Louisiana and Creole history.  Northwestern State University hosts one of the oldest chapters of Phi Alpha Theta, an international history honor society.
