Master of Education in Educational Leadership
The M.Ed. in Educational Leadership (EDL) now offers an online option. The courses are the same as the traditional program on campus.
The 36-hour Educational Leadership program (503) is nationally accredited through both the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, NCATE, and the Educational Leadership Constituent Council (ELCC). Applicants must have a valid teaching license.
For those already with a master’s degree, an alternate path add-on School Leader Level 1 certification (010 program code) is available. Depending upon past graduate work and school/professional experience, hours range from 12 to 24.
Additionally, the internship experiences and EDL courses emphasize competences and skills defined by the Louisiana Board of Regents and the Interstate School Licensure Consortium (ISLCC).
Completing the program and passing the School Leader Licensure Assessment (SLLA) qualify graduates for a Louisiana Level One Administration License.
