NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s music faculty will present its annual Faculty Showcase on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. Those attending are asked to follow university regulations and to wear a mask at all times in the building. The program will feature 12 short performances by NSU music faculty, including performances on marimba, saxophone, viola, voice, oboe, baroque flute, double bass, cello and euphonium. A faculty chamber ensemble performing selections from Stravinsky’s “A Soldier’s Tale” will be conducted by interim director of bands Dan McDonald. The program will also include modern compositions, operatic standards and performances on classical period instruments.
