NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Engineering Technology hosted Junior Robotics Camp last week with 32 fourth-sixth graders representing several Natchitoches Parish schools participating. “The camp was a fantastic experience, filled with fun and learning for all participants,” said Dr. Shahriar Hossain, professor and interim department chair. Hossain, along with Dr. Moftah Ali and Dr. Nabin Sapkota, guided the camp with expertise and enthusiasm, supported by Kenyetta Jackson and two exceptional ET students, Gabriel and Andrew. Dr. Francene Lemoine, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, and Dr. Chris Lyles, director of the School of STEM, presented awards during the closing ceremony. Advanced Robotics Camp continues this week for students in 8-10th grades. The camps are sponsored by the A+ Coalition, NSU’s ET Department and the STEM Pioneers Organization.
