NATCHITOCHES – The Northwestern State University community will honor the life of James Louis Evans Jr., formerly of Chalmette, who passed away Feb. 25. A service will take place at noon Friday, March 13 in Orville Hanchey Gallery. All students, faculty, staff and friends are invited to attend.
Evans was born in New Orleans June 13, 1997. He was a full-time student at Northwestern State where he majored in theatre and studied stage management. A memorial service with family and friends took place at his home church in Chalmette last week.
The family asked that in lieu of flowers memorials be made to Chalmette High School, Nunez Community College or Northwestern State, designated to assist students with disabilities.
