NATCHITOCHES – Students from Northwestern State University’s Department of New Media, Journalism and Communication Arts are partnering with the Natchitoches Chamber of Commerce to co-develop a media plan and work as producers, talent and creators of the multimedia promotional productions for the third annual Natchitoches Work Summit, an event for employers, job seekers and students from all over the area.

The student-producers will create promotional media for social media, websites and TV/radio. This collaboration illustrates the dedication NMJCA has to providing hands-on, real-world learning and networking for communication and media students.

Students working on the project are Naydu Daza Maya, Isabel Juarez-Rubio and Victoria Rodrigue. Brittany McCoy, director of Economic and Community Development for the Natchitoches Chamber of Commerce, is the students’ direct contact and co- creative director of multimedia promotional production for this event.

Dr. Nick Taylor, assistant professor, will work as liaison between the Chamber and students.

“The Natchitoches Chamber of Commerce always hosts world-class events and our NMJCA students produce multimedia/social media campaigns at professional levels,” Taylor said. “Seeing the two groups come together to promote this event is exciting. I look forward to seeing all the media produced through this collaboration.”

In the upcoming weeks readers can engage with the student-produced content through the Chamber’s Instagram page @gonatchitoches and website https://gonatchitoches.com/.
