NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern Lyrica, the Cane River Singers and the Northwestern Men’s Chorus will present a concert on Tuesday, April 19 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. Those attending are asked to wear a mask, but they are not required. A livestream will be available at capa.nsula.edu/livestream.

Director of Choral Activities Dr. Nicholas Cummins will conduct Northwestern Lyrica. Graduate Teaching Student Ella Victoria Aubrey Castro will conduct the Men’s Chorus and Adam Philley will conduct the Cane River Singers.

Lyrica will perform “Stabat Mater” by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi featuring sopranos Kylie Dornbush, Kristina Simon, Brooke Jones, Hannah Potter, Bethany Coleman and Makayla Goff and mezzo-sopranos Rebekah Hall and Dara Pressley.

The Cane River Singers will perform “Let the River Run” arranged by Craig Hella Johnson, “Like a River in My Soul” arranged by Osiek, “We Shall Over Come by Love” featuring soloist Angela Saldivar, “Don’t Be Afraid” arranged by McMillan featuring soloist Makayla Espree and “Let Everything That Hath Breath” by Jeffrey Ames.

The Men’s Chorus will perform “New Morning, New Tomorrow, New Beginning” by Castro and Karla Gonzalez Bueno with narrators Robert McCandlish and Maudiel Aguilar Paz, “Hanacpachap Cussicuiin (Heaven’s Joy)” with soloists Norman Martinez Reyes, McCandlish, Jelsson Flores Reyes and Jackson Holoubek, “Agnus Dei” from “Ashes of Roses” by Jocelyn Hagen featuring Josue Bustillo Aguero, “Revelations 21:4” by Alshamir Bryan B. Aripuddin, “Alway Something Sings” by Dan Forrest featuring Dilen Smith, “We Rise Again” arranged by Stephen Smith featuring David Berrocal Barrios and “Glory” from “Selma” arranged by Eugene Rogers featuring Paz.
