“Now. Here. This.” is a story about four friends who spend an afternoon at a museum of natural history. While strolling through the exhibits, the characters tell life stories that relate to each museum display as to how they got to now, here, doing this. The audience is then asked to examine their own life and consider the odds it takes to bring them together in a particular moment in time.
The cast is Khuyen Tran of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Phoenix Aura Woods of Lafayette, Mia Jolie Rodriguez of Sarasota, Florida, William Kielwasser of Monroe, J. Cole Becton of Lake Charles and Landon Kately of Parks.
Dr. Sloane Artis is the director and musical director, Brett Alan Garfinkel is the choreographer and Vee Duran is assistant choreographer. Daniel Ley is on piano with Layton Zeringue on guitar, William Shupak on bass guitar and Covie Latham on drums.
“The show challenges the students to draw from all parts of their training in musical theatre: acting, singing and dancing; while addressing complex and sophisticated topics like death, sexual identity, and relationship dynamics,” said Artis. “It has been an honor to work with these students.”
