NATCHITOCHES – The NSU Percussion Ensemble will present their fall concert on Monday, Nov. 6 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. A live stream of the concert will be available at capa.nsula.edu/livestream.
The concert will consist of works that are visually appealing and musically satisfying. The ensembles range from marimba quartets to large percussion orchestras.
The ensemble will perform “Away Without Leave” by Bob Becker, “Shell” by Emma O’Halloran, “Archipelagos” by Dave Hall, “Snake Oil” by Greg Simon, “Ephemera” by Francisco Perez, and “Portico” by Tom Gauger. Students from this semester’s percussion methods class will be featured on a piece of their own. The future music educators will apply the knowledge learned in class for performance on stage with Josh Turner’s “Achievement Unlocked.”
