NATCHITOCHES – Anna Hausgen, a junior history and social sciences major from Keithville, has been named as a recipient of a 2023-2024 Police Jury Association of Louisiana Scholarship.
Hausgen maintains a 3.8 grade point average. After earning her degree, she hopes to work in an area library or museum.
“This scholarship will assist me while I work towards my degree by helping with the cost of higher education,” said Hausgen, an online student who transferred to Northwestern State.
She said faculty and staff at the university made it easy for her to earn her degree online.
“NSU was very helpful and accommodating during my transfer process,” said Hausgen. “Conversation with faculty via email and phone call has made my online education easy, as well as with planning the remainder of my education.”
The scholarship is awarded annually to upper division undergraduates at universities throughout the state. Hausgen was recommended by NSU’s history faculty for the scholarship.
The Police Jury Association of Louisiana was created in 1924 to improve parish government in the State of Louisiana. Membership is open to each of the 64 parishes in the State of Louisiana, whether organized as a police jury, parish council or parish commission.
Professor of History Dr. Greg Granger thanked the Police Jury Association of Louisiana for their support of Northwestern State and its students.
