NATCHITOCHES — The NSU Trumpet Ensemble and NSU Euphonium-Tuba Ensemble will hold a joint Halloween Concert on Thursday, Oct 31 at 7:30 p.m. in Magale Recital Hall. Admission is free and open to the public. A livestream of the concert will be available at nsula.edu/capa/capalivestream.
The NSU Trumpet Ensemble is directed by Associate Professor of Trumpet Galindo Rodriguez. The ensemble will play “O Fortuna” from “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, “Swarm” by Nathan Ost and “This is Halloween” from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” by Danny Elfman and arranged by England.
Members of the NSU Trumpet Ensemble are Juan Arrieta, Leonardo Donado, Keagan Faulkner, Ever N. Galeas, Evelyn Gardner, Hannah Hughes, Morgan Hunter, Wolfgang Otero, Alyssa Toney, Fredy Zubiria and Layton Zeringue.
The Euphonium-Tuba Ensemble is directed by Professor of Euphonium-Tuba Dr. Masahito Kuroda. The ensemble will play “Finale from Firebird” by Igor Stravinsky and arranged by Roundtree, “RAN” by Toshinobu Kinoshita, “Andante Cantabile from String Quartet No. 1” by Peter I. Tchaikovsky and arranged by Drobnak and “Night on Bald Mountain” by Modest Mussorgsky and arranged by Zaidan.
Members of the NSU Euphonium-Tuba Ensemble are Reon Bell, Remi Blanchard, Cyrus Blount, Rhyan Bowen, Nadrict Brown, Hannah Buckley, Garrett Carrell, Taylor Carrell, Daniel Coleman, Hayden Crowell, Joseph Duboice, Dylan Dunn-Peacock, Jordan Kirts, Alexander Miller, Alex Mills, Emily Murphy, Brodie Rozema, William Self, Travis Sinclair and Dalton Wade.
The combined ensembles will be directed by Gardner and will perform “Sally’s Song” from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” by Elfman arranged by Dr. Adam Hudlow with Gardner.
