Retention of students from one year to the next is displayed by selecting a starting semester from the control called “Cohort Semester”. For instance, if you select “Fall 2020”, the rate of retention will reflect those students from Fall 2020 who were also enrolled in Fall 2021.

Within this starting semester you can filter on subgroups of students based on “Dept” (Academic Department) and/or “Classification” (Student Classification), from Entering Freshmen to Graduate Students. You may further break down the filtered data in a variety of ways using the “Selected Category” field.
