NATCHITOCHES – The Eta Mu Chapter of Phi Beta Delta will host a lecture on Nigeria as part of its Language and Culture Series on Thursday, March 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the David Morgan Auditorium (Room 107) of Russell Hall.

The guest lecturer will be Natchitoches physician Dr. Oghale Eleyae, who is a native of Nigeria. Eleyae is the sixth of six children. His wife Trisha is also from Nigeria. They have four children, two boys and two girls- Ewoma (16), Tano (12), Zino (11) and Keno (7).
At age 18, he left his home for the first time to attend college at Biola University in La Mirada, California. While on a track and field scholarship, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry. He then attended Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, where he received his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine. He landed a three-year residency position at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Then, he landed a one-year sports medicine fellowship position at Barry University in Miami, where he worked with the Miami Heat Basketball organization.
He decided to start his career in Louisiana and has been a practicing podiatrist in the state for 16 years. He has been practicing in Natchitoches for seven years and has become a part of the community. Eleyae joined the Krewe of Excellence in 2018 and served as Duke of Superiority in 2020. He served as king of the Krewe of Excellence Mardi Gras Court for the 2023-2024 season.
