NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Eta Mu chapter of Phi Beta Delta, the honor society for international scholars, inducted eight new members into the chapter during a program April 6.

New member are University Archivist and Records Officer Donna Baker, Dr. David Clark, instructor in the School of Business; Dr. Christy Hornsby, professor and coordinator of NSU’s doctoral program in Adult Learning and Development; Dr. Megan Lowe, director of University Libraries; Edger Martinez, Elevate-U advising services program manager; Dr. Laura Noman, assistant professor in Adult Learning and Development; Dr. Damien Tristant, assistant professor of physics, and Shannon Wall-Hale, instructor of psychology.

Tristant was program speaker and shared his academic and personal journey that led him from his home in France to Northwestern State.

The Eta Mu chapter named two students as recipients of Phi Beta Delta Scholarships. They are Santiago Tobon Cardona, a business major from Pereira, Colombia, and Zaiba Daud, an engineering technology major from Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Founded in 1986, Phi Beta Delta is an international society with over 200 chapters worldwide.  Phi Beta Delta is the first honor society dedicated to recognizing scholarly achievement in international education.
