Jennifer Walsh began performing the duties of the Under Secretary of Defense on January 20, 2021 and serves as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and Global Security in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. Immediately prior, she served as the Principal Director, Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction.
Walsh has remained engaged with NSU by creating the Animal Welfare Call to Action Scholarship to address animal welfare issues in Natchitoches and give NSU students an opportunity to develop leadership and community engagement skills. The scholarship focused on raising awareness and facilitating community action to improve animal welfare through student initiatives.
