Welcome to the MSW Program
The mission of our Master of Social Work program is to cultivate inclusive, clinically trained evidence-based advanced generalist social work practitioners equipped to meet the growing needs of rural, central, and western Louisiana while maintaining a global perspective and reach. We embrace diversity through anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed practices and strive to foster a community of learners committed to enhancing social justice. We empower students to progress from generalist to advanced generalist practice, preparing them to assess, evaluate, and create impactful interventions across all practice levels. We aim to develop social workers who understand the complexities of social inequalities, systemic oppression, and historical, generational and environmental trauma. By integrating cost-effective education with cutting edge approaches, our graduates are equipped to evaluate the effectiveness of policies and programs and to create transformative solutions that enhance the well-being of individuals, families, communities, and organizations.
