NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State’s newest eatery will open Wednesday, Oct. 9. NSU and the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon-cutting for Steak ‘n Shake, home of the original Steakburger, at 10:30 a.m. with the restaurant opening for lunch at 11 a.m. The restaurant is located in a newly renovated space on the ground floor of the NSU Student Union, 185 Sam Sibley Drive.
“I am excited to continue to expand the dining options at NSU,” said Jennifer Kelly, assistant to the provost for academic support and auxiliary services. “I believe that this will further enhance the options for our students and the community. As NSU continues to focus on the student experience this will bring new life back to the Student Union.”
Steak ‘n Shake’s menu features primarily burgers and hand-dipped milkshakes, though other entrees, side items and drinks are also available.
The restaurant will be open long hours and on weekends so students and the public alike can enjoy the premium burgers and shakes. The location will accept student declining balance as well as cash, credit cards and SOGO gift cards that are accepted at all Sodexo locations on campus.
The NSU Steak ‘n Shake was facilitated through a partnership with Sodexo, NSU’s food service provider.
