NATCHITOCHES – In celebration of October as National Manufacturing Month, Northwestern State University’s Department of Engineering Technology is organizing the 6th annual Engineering Technology Symposium. This year’s theme is “Creative problem-solving.”
The event will be from 8 a.m.-noon Monday, October 23 in the Student Union Ballroom. Regional manufacturers will participate to offer information about their companies and relevant STEM career opportunities available.
Speakers will include Kamal Deep, plant Quality and Lean Manufacturing Manager at Alliance Compressors; Dr. Jun-Ing Ker, program chair of Engineering and Technology Management at Louisiana Tech University; Jeffrey Leach, Maintenance Learning leader at International Paper, and Mohammad Gharaibeh, internal auditor at CLECO Corp. and founder of AnalytiXplore (AE), along with local industry representatives, graduates of the program and NSU administrators.
The ET Symposium was established in October 2017. It is a platform to bring together academia, industry and workforce development constituents to discuss common issues related to the future needs of our nation and how these issues will impact industry and business.
