NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University students from the staff of Argus, the campus literary publication, and Demon Writers Guild, the creative writing student organization, recently attended the Association of Writers and Writing Programs (AWP) Conference in Seattle. The annual conference gave Northwestern State students the opportunity to attend panels and readings with major writers, network with presses and literary organizations in the bookfair and learn about possible next steps in their careers as writers.
The conference brings together thousands of writers, editors, students and teachers of writing from across the country and the world.
The undergraduate creative writing concentration is the newest and fastest growing in the NSU English major. For questions about creative writing classes and events or the creative writing minor, e-mail creativewriting@nsula.edu or program coordinator Rebecca Macijeski at macijeskir@nsula.edu.
