GeauxFAME/AMT graduates honored

NATCHITOCHES – Five students completed the GeauxFAME Advanced Manufacturing Technician (AMT) program, a work/study partnership between Central Louisiana Technical Community College, Northwestern State University and regional industries.  Through the program, graduates earned a certificate from CLTCC and an associate degree from NSU while working at a regional manufacturing facility.

NASA Day will wrap up ASTRO Robotics Camp

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Engineering Technology will host a NASA Day from 9 a.m.-noon Friday, June 10 as part of the STEM ASTRO Robotics Camp. The event includes educational activities on how astronauts live and work in space. Participants will also participate in EVA simulation activity that will allow them to mimic tasks astronauts complete on the ISS.

Fall Robotics Competition set for Dec. 1

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University’s Department of Engineering Technology will host its Fall Robotics Competition and Smart Structures Show (RC&S3) Dec. 1. All middle schools within a 200-mile radius of Natchitoches city are welcome to participate in the competition. Huntington students tour Engineering Technology Department

NATCHITOCHES – Huntington High School visited the Department of Engineering Technology at NSU.  The event is organized as an observance of the National Manufacturing Month; October every year.  Participants toured different ET labs and experienced live demonstrations by ET faculty and students. ET Professor Hossain earns robotics certifications

NATCHITOCHES – Dr. Shahriar Hossain, assistant professor in the Department of Engineering Technology at Northwestern State University, earned two robotics certifications offered by FANUC America, a leading supplier of robots, CNC systems and factory automation.
