Winnfield Insurance Company
Founded by Ben Johnson, the Winnfield Insurance Company grew out of a burial association established in the 1930s to help African Americans pay for costly funeral expenses.
They got three deacons of a church over there, Morning Star church. They come over and they got three more deacons of some other church and we formed an organization called the Winnfield Colored Burial Association.
