First Baptist Church, Amulet
The First Baptist Church was founded shortly after the Civil War. After the first church burned, the congregation split and formed the First Baptist Church, Amulet and the First Baptist Church, North Street.
Our biggest enjoyment was the church…. We [became] affiliated with First Baptist on Amulet in 1946 and I’ve been a member there ever since. I just love the church because I feel like that’s what brought me to where I am today. It helped me spiritually, and it helped me to raise my family under the ammunition of God, and that’s what I feel is just so great, the greatest thing.
