Jerry & Clara Jones House (Jones-Roque House)
The Jerry Jones house was built in 1845 and is one of the most significant houses on Isle Brevelle because of its early date of construction and its architectural integrity. This is a fine example of a typical Creole cottage - one story, bousillage, half timbered construction, with gabled roof and central brick chimney.
The original posts on the front gallery were salvaged from the first St. Augustine chapel depicted in the painting of Augustin Metoyer which hangs in the present church. Jerry Jones and his wife, Clara, inherited the house from his parents, Florentine "Miss 'Tine" and Jerry Jones, Sr.
In 2002, this home was purchased and refurbished by Dr. Tammy Roque.
